Lisa Faulkner, 54, has announced she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and recently underwent surgery for the early stages of the disease. The TV chef shared the news on Instagram on Thursday, explaining that she had a significant operation two weeks prior.

Faulkner stated that her results are back and that "everything" was removed. She is now scheduled to undergo a course of radiotherapy in the coming weeks. "I just wanted to say I’ve got a bit of healing to do but I’m good. I’m well and feeling so much better and I’m so grateful I went for my mammogram," she wrote on the social media platform.

She urged others to get their mammograms, emphasizing that her cancer was detected because of the screening. Faulkner also expressed gratitude to the National Health Service (NHS) for the availability of mammograms and early treatment. Her husband, former MasterChef star John Torode, was also mentioned.

Faulkner's announcement comes amid growing concerns about rising breast cancer diagnoses in younger women. New analysis indicates that breast cancer cases in women under 50 have increased by five percent in one year and by 16 percent since 2000. Experts are investigating the role of modern lifestyles in this trend, particularly in young women.
