Never-before-seen photographs and surveillance footage from Argentina police offer a detailed, albeit somber, account of the final hours of One Direction star Liam Payne. The materials, obtained by the Daily Mail, include approximately 3,000 photos, documents, and statements.

Footage shows Payne walking through the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, where he died in October 2024. One clip captures him swinging on a pole outside the hotel the night before his death. He was also seen interacting with hotel staff and two women identified by police as sex workers in the hotel lobby.

Payne, 31, died after falling from the balcony of his third-story hotel room on October 16, 2024. An autopsy report indicated that he fell while attempting to escape his room, having consumed alcohol and drugs. A toxicology report found traces of crack cocaine, a depressant, and pink cocaine, a mixture containing ketamine, MDMA, and methamphetamine, in his system.

Months after Payne's death, five individuals were charged by Argentine police with manslaughter and drug supply. Those charged included hotel manager Gilda Martin, receptionist Esteban Grassi, and Payne's friend Rogelio “Roger” Nores. Braian Paiz and Ezequiel Pereyra were accused of supplying the drugs. However, in February 2025, charges were dropped against Nores, who had been accused of abandoning Payne after allegedly failing to report his relapse. Charges against Martin and Grassi were also dismissed, while Paiz and Pereyra await trial.

Payne rose to fame in 2010 as a member of One Direction on the series “The X Factor.” The group achieved global success, releasing five albums before disbanding in 2016. Payne was laid to rest in England on November 20, 2024, with former bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan in attendance.
