Liam Hemsworth and model Gabriella Brooks confirmed their engagement Friday after Brooks posted images on Instagram that included a close-up of a large diamond ring.
Brooks shared a three-image post that opened with a black-and-white photo of the pair together in what appeared to be a backyard, followed by a tranquil seascape and a detailed shot of the ring. She captioned the post with a single white heart emoji and later reshared it to her Instagram Story for her roughly 202,000 followers. Hemsworth had not posted about the engagement on his social accounts as of Friday.
The couple first sparked engagement speculation last month when Brooks was photographed walking along a yacht dock in Ibiza wearing a sizable diamond on her left hand. In those images she wore a short yellow dress, sunglasses and a straw purse and was barefoot as she boarded a boat; Hemsworth was also seen on the outing, dressed in a white sleeveless shirt and blue shorts.
Hemsworth and Brooks were first publicly linked in December 2019 after they were seen having lunch with Hemsworth’s parents in Byron Bay, Australia. Their early appearances together came after Hemsworth’s separation from Miley Cyrus, who filed for divorce in August 2019; the couple had married in 2018. Hemsworth and Brooks were photographed together in January 2020 and later faced breakup rumors in August 2022 amid reports that Hemsworth’s increasing work commitments were a factor, but they reappeared together on the red carpet in November 2022.
Brooks previously dated The 1975 frontman Matty Healy for about four years; Healy is now engaged to model Gabbriette Bechtel. Brooks has worked as a model and maintains an active presence on social media. Hemsworth, an Australian actor, is known for roles in films including The Hunger Games franchise and The Last Song.
Neither Hemsworth nor Brooks provided additional details about wedding plans, and no public statement from representatives was available Friday. The announcement follows months of public sightings and intermittent media coverage of the couple’s relationship.
