Lewis Capaldi will headline British Summer Time (BST) Hyde Park in London and the inaugural Roundhay Festival in Leeds next summer, organisers announced Monday, marking a high-profile return to major outdoor stages after the singer resumed live performances this year.
Capaldi is scheduled to perform at Roundhay Festival on Saturday, July 4, 2026, and will make his BST Hyde Park debut on July 11. The 28-year-old Scot, who stepped back from touring after his Glastonbury set in 2023, returned to the Somerset festival earlier this year for a short appearance on the Pyramid Stage and followed that with a sold-out UK and Ireland tour.
Promoters said Capaldi had rebuilt his live schedule with secret warm-up shows and guest appearances before announcing the full tour. In media interviews he described a mix of nerves and excitement ahead of his first warm-up gig in Edinburgh, saying he felt a “rush of adrenaline” before managing to calm himself.
Jim King, chief executive of AEG Presents UK and European Festivals, called the announcement “absolutely perfect” and described Capaldi as “fast becoming a legend for a new generation.” King said the Hyde Park booking will be “the true comeback that everyone has been waiting for.”
Capaldi rose to prominence with a string of chart successes: he has achieved six U.K. number-one singles, including "Before You Go," "Pointless" and "Wish You the Best," and both of his studio albums have reached the top of the U.K. albums chart. In April 2023 Netflix released the documentary Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now, which followed his decision to step back from touring and documented his experience with Tourette’s syndrome, a condition that can cause sudden, repetitive movements or sounds.
Following his U.K. and Ireland dates, Capaldi is due to tour Australia and New Zealand in November and December, organisers said. He performed at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on Saturday night as part of his current schedule.
Roundhay Festival is a new event launched in collaboration with Leeds City Council; Capaldi is the first headliner announced. The park in Leeds has a long history as a major concert venue, having hosted performances by artists including the Rolling Stones, Madonna, Michael Jackson and Ed Sheeran. Capaldi is the second act publicly confirmed for BST, which this year featured headline appearances from Sabrina Carpenter, Neil Young, Chrome Hearts and Stevie Wonder.
Tickets and further lineup details for both festivals were not released in full at the time of the announcement. Promoters said more acts would be revealed in the coming months.
