Singer Lauren Bennett, who rose to fame as a vocalist on LMFAO's 2011 chart-topping song "Party Rock Anthem," has died at the age of 37. Her death was confirmed Monday in a statement released by G.R.L., her former girl group.
"It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren," the statement read. "Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved."
"Party Rock Anthem," released in 2011, became a global phenomenon, spending six weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart and reaching number one in 20 countries. Bennett was a prominent voice on the track, contributing to its widespread success.
Bennett was also a member of the girl group G.R.L., which was formed by Robin Antin, the creator of The Pussycat Dolls. The group experienced several lineup changes throughout its existence but achieved success with singles like "Vacation" and "Ugly Heart."
