Lara Worthington has revealed the deliberate choice she and her husband, actor Sam Worthington, made over a decade ago to "vanish from the spotlight" and protect their children.

The couple, who share sons Rocket Zot, 11, Racer, nine, and River, six, prioritized their children's privacy from birth. "I think privacy is mostly a choice. It was always our choice to not put our kids out there from day dot," Worthington told nine.com.au. "They can always choose what they want to do later, but I think for the decade that they were babies, I think it's nice to protect them as much as you can."

Lara and Sam Worthington began dating in 2013 and married the following year. They welcomed their first son, Rocket Zot, in Los Angeles on March 24, 2015. Racer was born in New York in October 2016, and their youngest son, River, was born in June 2020.

While the family is now based in New York, Worthington affirmed her Australian identity. "I still have an Australian passport. I’m still Australian!" she stated.

She previously shared with The Daily Telegraph that she and Sam are a strong partnership, emphasizing their shared values as Australians and their unified approach to parenting. "We've only got each other. Sam and I are a good team," she said. "We're both Australians and we have the same values. We come at our children as a team... I think that's really important."

Worthington recently garnered attention at the Louis Vuitton 2027 Cruise Collection Show in New York in May, where she wore a pink draped gown valued at $27,300.
