Lara Worthington has publicly expressed her deep affection for her husband, actor Sam Worthington, in a recent social media post. The Australian model, known for maintaining a private personal life, shared a TikTok video explaining why she loves the "Avatar" star.
In the video, which featured a series of images of the couple, Lara highlighted their 12-year relationship and Sam's deliberate absence from social media. She captioned the final slide of the carousel with "And that is my why," indicating his desire for privacy as a significant reason for her admiration. The accompanying photos depicted the couple during travels and a mirror selfie, alongside a candid shot of Sam.
Worthington's tribute resonated with fans, who praised the couple's commitment to privacy. Comments on social media referred to Sam as a "green flag" and a "normal chill dude," with others commending his acting abilities.
The couple, who share three sons—Rocket Zot, 11, Racer, 9, and River, 6—prioritized protecting their children from the public eye to ensure a normal upbringing. Lara told nine.com.au that privacy is a conscious choice the couple made from the beginning, allowing their children the option to choose their own paths later in life.
Lara and Sam Worthington began their relationship in 2013 and married the following year. Their eldest son, Rocket, was born in Los Angeles in March 2015. Racer followed in New York in October 2016, and River was born in June 2020. Although the family is based in New York, Lara maintains her Australian identity.
Reflecting on their partnership, Lara previously told The Daily Telegraph that she and Sam, both Australians with shared values, function as a strong team in both their relationship and parenting. "We've only got each other. Sam and I are a good team," she stated.
