Singer Lana Del Rey provided fans with a rare look into her private married life, sharing moments from a recent Fourth of July celebration with husband Jeremy Dufrene. The posts came ahead of the couple's two-year wedding anniversary in September.
Del Rey, 41, married Dufrene, a 51-year-old alligator swamp tour guide from Louisiana, in September 2024 after a brief courtship. While their relationship has largely remained out of the public eye, Del Rey posted a series of photos and videos on Instagram from their Fourth of July festivities in Santa Monica, California. The content included a clip of Dufrene embracing her with the Santa Monica pier as a backdrop, and a mirror selfie with friends.
The celebration also featured Fourth of July-themed food and desserts, including an American flag cake, and patriotic decorations in their hotel room. The couple later viewed fireworks on the beach. Del Rey also shared a clip of herself with the couple's Bengal cat, and showed off a pair of Ralph Lauren boots she has been favoring.
Album Announcements
Alongside glimpses of her personal life, Del Rey used the post to announce that her long-awaited album "Stove" will be released soon. She also revealed plans for a companion album titled "Spyda," which was developed during the four-year creative process for "Stove."
"Stove" is the follow-up to Del Rey's ninth studio album, "Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd," released in 2023. In her caption, Del Rey described the creation of "Stove" as a journey that required patience and trust, with new ideas emerging amidst challenges. She characterized "Stove" as a classic album, some of which fans may have already heard during tours.
The companion album, "Spyda," is described as a commentary on the changes experienced during the creation of "Stove." Del Rey expressed gratitude to her collaborators and stated that she needs about a month to finalize the albums before sending them for vinyl production.
She shared potential cover art for both albums. "Stove" features an image of Del Rey in a vintage white dress surrounded by floral artwork. "Spyda" appears to be inspired by Dufrene's Louisiana background, with cover art featuring an amphibious boat in a rustic setting.
Del Rey concluded her message by thanking fans for their patience and acknowledging that the creation of these two albums was a lengthy and evolving process, comparing it to navigating a river. She expressed hope that fans will appreciate the new work, which she described as two of her most beautiful pieces, stemming from both joy and doubt.
