The Win~Dow, a Los Angeles-based burger chain known for its affordable smashburgers and fried chicken sandwiches, is reportedly planning to open its first Orange County location. The restaurant is expected to take over a former radiator shop at 237 W. Chapman Ave. in Old Towne Orange, near the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Lemon Street.

A California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control license application indicates a business named "The Win~Dow and a Bar" has filed for a pending Type-47 on-sale general eating place license, which permits alcohol service on the premises. The application was filed under Win Orange LLC and its status was pending as of June 24.

The Win~Dow, which launched in Venice in 2019, has built a dedicated following for its straightforward menu and budget-friendly prices, with its smashburgers priced at $4.50. The brand's offerings include smashburgers, fried chicken sandwiches, grain bowls, kale salads, fries, and milkshakes. Select locations also feature a breakfast burrito.

This expansion would mark another step in the brand's growth across Southern California, adding to its existing locations in Venice, Silver Lake, Hollywood, Santa Monica, West Adams, Long Beach, Santa Barbara, and The Grove. The Win~Dow is operated by American Gonzo Food Corp., a hospitality group that also owns concepts such as American Beauty, Superba, and Pitfire Pizza.

The property in Old Towne Orange has been vacant for years. Plans for the site reportedly include an outdoor garden space and a bar, potentially transforming the location into a new community gathering spot.
