Kylie Jenner is opening up about the impact of early motherhood on her life and embracing a new phase as she approaches her 30th birthday. In a recent interview with Who What Wear, Jenner shared that she felt she lost some of her "young years" after having children in her early twenties.
Jenner, who is the mother of Stormi, 8, and Aire, 4, with ex Travis Scott, revealed that she made a conscious decision after her second child, Aire, was born to focus on reclaiming the latter half of her twenties. "The first half was like, ‘You’re pregnant,’ and then it’s the year of recovery, and, you know, my mental state, my postpartum depression, and all those things," she told the outlet. "It felt like I lost some of those young years of my life."
Now, at 29, Jenner expressed feeling confident and embracing her true self, as showcased in an accompanying photoshoot for Who What Wear. The photo spread features Jenner in several daring looks, including one in black and white where she wears only a black bra while smoking a cigarette, and another posing on the floor.
"I’m a confident person in my private life," Jenner stated. "I think it’s just hard to be a woman and a human because of this very singular experience of having so much attention."
Jenner is looking forward to a new chapter, particularly as her 30th birthday approaches. "I think there’s something that happens when you’re turning 29 — I’ll be 30 next year — and you almost feel like the clock is ticking, even though you’re still so young," she explained. She emphasized a desire to avoid future regrets and to actively pursue experiences she might have missed.
"Even though I already have children — so young — I feel like I lived such an adult life when I was young," Jenner added. "And I’m trying to make sure that I don’t have any regrets and to do brave things and give myself more opportunities or take advantage of the ones I have."
Jenner cited acting as one such brave endeavor, inspired by her sister Kim Kardashian. She mentioned that she has received two scripts and is considering acting, though she is waiting for the right project that would allow her to be away from her children without feeling conflicted. "I want to make sure it’s the right fit, especially if I’m going to do something major and … be away from my kids. I want to make sure it feels right."
Kim Kardashian commented on her sister in the feature, calling Jenner the most "individual" of the Kardashian-Jenner siblings. "She’s always known what she wanted to do in life, always known who she is at a young age, and has always been very confident," Kardashian said, describing Jenner as a "wise soul."
