Kody Brown and his wife Robyn Brown are exiting the TLC reality series "Sister Wives" after 16 years, the show's trailer for the upcoming 21st season announced. The trailer revealed that the couple "will not be returning to the show" after more than a decade of filming.

Neither Kody nor Robyn Brown have commented on their departure, nor did they appear in the newly released teaser. Representatives for Kody Brown and TLC did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

However, Kody's former wives, Christine Brown Woolley, Janelle Brown, and Meri Brown, reacted to the news in separate confessionals featured in the trailer. Christine stated, "I don’t know what it means. I have no idea." Janelle expressed her surprise, saying she was "flabbergasted, really, when [she] got the news." Meri added, "I was actually surprised when I was told that Kody and Robyn weren’t coming back to the show."

Kody Brown, 57, and Robyn Brown, 47, have been part of "Sister Wives" since its premiere in September 2010. At the time of the show's inception, Kody was married to Christine, Meri, and Janelle. He married Robyn in 2014. Robyn is now Kody's only remaining wife, following his separations from Christine in 2021, and then from Janelle and Meri in 2022.

The trailer also showed Kody's three ex-wives reuniting for meetings, during which they discussed melting down jewelry from Kody, a land deal, and their current dating lives. Christine Brown Woolley married David Woolley in 2023. Janelle and Meri have reportedly entered new relationships.

Season 21 of "Sister Wives" is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, October 4, at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
