AFLW star Kirby Bentley has been crowned the winner of The Traitors Australia, taking home a $200,600 prize after a season marked by deception and betrayal. The finale, which aired Wednesday night, saw Bentley outwit her fellow contestants in a brutal final round.
Bentley, 40, proved her strategic prowess throughout the Channel Ten reality series, successfully maintaining her position as an "OG Traitor" while convincing others she was a "Faithful." She reached the grand finale alongside Rhys Nicholson, Krissy Marsh, and Keira Maguire. In the ultimate act of deception, Bentley blindsided Maguire, securing the entire prize fund for herself.
"Kirby, $200,600 is all yours! Congratulations, time to celebrate," host Gretel Killeen announced. Bentley expressed her disbelief and relief, stating, "Oh God, I'm paying for my sister's wedding." She admitted to nearly being banished on multiple occasions throughout the season. "I just won The Traitors when I nearly got banished on day two, three, four, five... I nearly got banished every single day!" she said.
The final challenge required the remaining contestants to correctly identify every banished or murdered contestant in chronological order. Bentley's victory marks a significant moment, not only for her family but also as a representation for Aboriginal people and women, she noted.
The season featured an all-star cast, including Ian 'Dicko' Dickson and comedian Rhys Nicholson. Contestants were sent to a castle in New Zealand, where they were divided into the Faithfuls and the Traitors. Faithfuls aimed to identify and banish the Traitors, while Traitors worked to deceive and eliminate contestants. If all Traitors were banished, the Faithfuls would share the prize money. However, if even one Traitor remained at the end, they could claim the entire pot.
