Kendall Jenner was photographed tearing across a Washington state lake on a jet ski Monday, a sun-soaked outing that came days after the model told Vogue she is planning to pivot from full-time modeling to designing houses.
The 29-year-old was seen riding the craft in a two-piece swimsuit, navigating jumps and turns on the water. Photographers noted Jenner’s athletic handling of the jet ski and her appearance in swimwear during the outing.
Jenner discussed a potential career shift in a recent Vogue interview and accompanying spread with fellow model Gigi Hadid, saying she plans to focus on designing homes. "I swear to God, I'm going to stop everything and just design homes," Jenner told the magazine. She added that she is already building a home "out West" and described a desire for a simpler life where she can spend mornings in a bathing suit or sweatpants without makeup.
Hadid told Vogue that Jenner is “one of the only people” she would trust to decorate her home, underscoring Jenner’s interest and reputation among peers for interior work. Jenner has previously spoken about interior design on the family series The Kardashians and gave Architectural Digest a tour of her Los Angeles home last Christmas, showing furnishings and decor she described as cozy and lived-in.
During the Vogue conversation, Jenner also touched on privacy. She recounted a trip last year to the Netherlands, where she and friends reportedly attempted to go incognito while visiting Gigi Hadid’s family and the Efteling theme park. Jenner said she values opportunities to feel anonymous and enjoy ordinary activities, such as competing at horse shows under a different name while wearing a helmet and sunglasses.
Jenner, who owns 818 Tequila, has described working with A-list designers, including florist and designer Jeff Leatham, on aspects of her residences. In social media comments on Architectural Digest’s posts about her home, followers praised the lived-in quality of her furnishings, which Jenner highlighted during the tour: a mustard-colored corduroy couch with floral designs, a real wood fireplace and a cream-and-brown gingham tablecloth appeared in the magazine feature.
In another recent disclosure, Jenner said she does not use lip fillers and credited the appearance of her lips to a commercial lip product. She identified L'Oréal’s Plump Ambition Hyaluron Lip Oil as a favorite, noting its hyaluronic acid and tripeptide ingredients and its lightweight, non-sticky formula.
Jenner has been a prominent figure in modeling for more than a decade. The Vogue interview and her recent public appearance on the lake reflect a period in which she has signaled a reorientation of professional priorities toward design while still maintaining a high public profile.
