Kendall Jenner has ventured into acting with her debut in the short Italian film "La Passeggiata." The film, which also features Jenner as the narrator, is presented in the style of 1960s Italian cinema and appears as the cover story for the September issue of the film magazine A Rabbit's Foot.

The short film, directed and written by Fatima Khan, creative director of A Rabbit's Foot, is inspired by the Italian tradition of "La Passeggiata," an early evening stroll. This concept is transposed to Los Angeles, where Jenner resides. The visual language of the film draws from 1960s Italian cinema, exploring themes of "looking and being looked at" through Jenner's portrayal of an actress at a funeral, on the street, and in a fashion atelier.

Khan stated that she aimed to "play with" Jenner's reality as one of the most photographed women in the world rather than avoid it. The film concludes with Jenner's narration, "Because movement leaves room for mystery," which Khan identified as the piece's central thesis, exploring the gap between being seen and being understood.

In an accompanying interview, Jenner, 30, discussed the nature of modern celebrity, noting the lack of space between public and personal life. "Being recognised doesn't necessarily mean people actually know who you are, the person," she explained, differentiating between being looked at and being understood.

Jenner also expressed a long-standing captivation with cinema, highlighting the collaborative effort required to create lasting stories. She cited "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and Paul Thomas Anderson's "Magnolia" as films that have particularly resonated with her. Her internal monologue occasionally echoes movie lines, including a quote from Ewan McGregor's character in "Moulin Rouge!" and the sentiment, "I'm not lonely. I'm alone."

Jenner's foray into acting comes amidst her relationship with Australian actor Jacob Elordi, whom she has been dating since spring 2026. Elordi, known for his roles in "Priscilla" and "Frankenstein," is an Oscar-nominated actor. Jenner is currently in Venice for the Film Festival.

The Kardashian-Jenner family has seen other members pursue acting or related creative endeavors. Jenner's sister Kylie is dating actor Timothée Chalamet and has appeared in the mockumentary "The Moment." Kim Kardashian has acted in films and a television series where she portrayed a lawyer.

Jenner reflected on how fame has influenced her perspective on privacy and self-perception. "Fame has really taught me to protect and value my privacy," she said, adding that she seeks anonymity in nature. She emphasized the importance of self-acceptance, stating, "the one I'm really happiest with is my own – I just want to be happy with myself."

When asked about misunderstandings, Jenner cited her sensitivity as a key element that is often overlooked. She also shared that she tends to be hard on herself, and the best advice she has received is to allow herself grace. "We are all just doing our best, having a human experience," she concluded.
