Kelly Ripa, a familiar face on television for over two decades, has recently sparked discussion among fans with the reappearance of a video clip from her teenage years. The footage, circulating on social media platform X, originates from the 1980s show "Dance Party USA."
The program, which aired daily, showcased teenagers performing dance routines to various music genres. In the resurfaced clip, a young Ripa is seen in the front row, sporting a black halter-neck mini dress, prominent red earrings, and a voluminous blonde hairstyle. The video shows her dancing in a circle before a close-up shot.
Online commentary noted the distinctively 1980s aesthetic of the clip, particularly Ripa's hair. "Quite possibly the most 80s thing ever. Just because of the hair," one user remarked.
Ripa was a regular participant on "Dance Party USA," where she was involved in dancing and hosting segments, including one called "Dr. Love" that offered relationship advice.
Her career breakthrough came in 1990 with an acting role on "All My Children."
This throwback has emerged as Ripa recently returned to co-host "Live with Kelly and Mark" alongside her husband, Mark Consuelos, after a period of absence. She had taken time off to recover from gum graft surgery, a procedure she had delayed for several years due to her television commitments. Ripa stated that the surgery was "definitely necessary."
Several guest hosts, including Mila Kunis, Kevin Jonas, and Michelle Buteau, filled in for Ripa during her recovery.
