Kelly Osbourne has spoken about her ongoing recovery, stating that she was "so sick" and "not well" in recent months, a period that saw her experience significant weight loss and face public scrutiny. In an interview with Hello! magazine, Osbourne, 41, described her recovery as a "slow process" and a "lifetime of work."
Osbourne explained that her current struggles stemmed from grief following the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, in July 2025. She recounted receiving cruel comments online, such as questioning her health or speculating about weight loss medication. Osbourne stated that these remarks were particularly difficult to navigate while she was unwell.
"How can you navigate something so cruel when you’re so sick?" Osbourne asked, adding, "I’m getting a lot better. I’ve got all the help I need and I’m grateful for the support I have in my life."
She emphasized the importance of mental well-being, noting, "You’ve got to fix the head before you can fix the body." Osbourne is working with an "incredible team of people" and finds therapy beneficial for understanding childhood experiences that may influence her actions. She described her current mindset as "a lot more healthy" as she learns about herself in new ways.
During her father's passing, Osbourne posted a tribute on Instagram, expressing her profound sadness and calling him "the best friend I ever had." In December 2025, she publicly addressed the body-shaming comments, directly responding to critics with a strong expletive and stating that her father's recent death explained her slimdown. Her mother, Sharon Osbourne, corroborated this, mentioning that Kelly was struggling to eat during that time.
Osbourne has previously pushed back against speculation regarding her weight loss, denying the use of Ozempic and attributing her physical changes to grief and subsequent lifestyle adjustments. She has continued to advocate for compassion, stating on social media in March that "there is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something."
