Kelley Wolf, the estranged wife of actor Scott Wolf, said she weighs 97 pounds and described herself as "malnourished" after abruptly leaving a rehabilitation facility as she confronts a series of court orders and criminal charges tied to the couple's ongoing divorce.
In an emotional Instagram message posted this week, the 48-year-old former reality star said she had lost roughly 30 pounds since Scott Wolf filed for divorce in June and asked for privacy and respect as she awaited a court hearing. "I am going to be very clear, I need to be respected and given peace," she wrote, adding that she is "not crazy" and "not in rehab" and asserting that she does not abuse drugs or alcohol, according to screenshots of the post reported by Page Six and other outlets.
Kelley Wolf's social-media remarks come as she faces multiple misdemeanor charges and a judge-ordered protective order that limits her contact with Scott Wolf and their three children — Jackson, 16; Miller, 12; and Lucy. A judge granted the protective order earlier this month requiring Kelley Wolf to stay at least 300 feet away from her husband and barring direct or indirect contact with the children, though limited contact for mediation about divorce and custody was permitted, according to court filings and reporting by People.
Prosecutors have accused Kelley Wolf of electronic communications harassment and of disclosing personal identifying information electronically. The charges stem from incidents in late August, including an alleged attempt on Aug. 30 to contact her husband using a friend's phone and an effort to reach one of her children through a friend's son, according to court documents obtained by People. The documents also indicated some of the charges were classified as domestic-violence related.
Police were called to a disturbance at the Sundance Mountain Resort in late August that led to two misdemeanor charges against Kelley Wolf, and she was arrested there, reporting outlets said. The Salt Lake County prosecutor's office has also filed charges of electronic disclosure of personal identifying information tied to separate incidents reported in late August, according to TMZ and court records.
Kelley Wolf said she had planned to enter a treatment center in mid-September and told a district judge in early September that she intended to seek help. At an arraignment on Sept. 2, a judge ordered her to participate in inpatient or outpatient medical, behavioral, psychological or psychiatric treatment and instructed that she undergo drug testing before a scheduled Sept. 30 hearing. Prosecutors asked the court to require proof that she remained in compliance with those release conditions, but the judge declined that request at the time, according to court reporting.
Days after saying she would seek treatment, Kelley Wolf left the facility she had described as her intended placement, and prosecutors later filed an additional misdemeanor alleging she violated the protective order on Aug. 30. She has been summoned to appear in court on Nov. 7 on the new misdemeanor allegation, according to People.
The legal matters follow several episodes earlier this year in which authorities intervened. According to statements in court filings and reporting, Kelley Wolf was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold twice — once on June 13 after an incident involving an attempt to take the children out of the country and again on July 6 following an incident involving a knife. In a temporary divorce agreement signed July 19, a Utah judge ordered Scott Wolf to pay $10,000 a month to cover Kelley Wolf's living costs, car payments, minimum credit-card payments and some attorney fees.
The family dispute has played out publicly on social media. Kelley Wolf livestreamed one supervised visit with her children in which she appeared distressed; Scott Wolf can be heard telling the children, "We love you," while Kelley Wolf called for the eldest child, Jackson, to be allowed to visit. Jackson later posted on Instagram that he is estranged from his mother, describing her as "very mentally ill" and denying allegations she had made about their father, writing, "No he is not an abuser, he is not a manipulator and he is not a drug addict. He is a spectacular father." The posts by Jackson were reported by several outlets.
Scott Wolf, known for his role on Party of Five, released text messages in mid-August to People that he said undercut claims Kelley Wolf had made about him. In the texts, Kelley Wolf reportedly wrote about producing counterclaims to help obtain custody of the children, according to People.
Prosecutors had also requested a court order to bar Kelley Wolf from social media after alleging she had doxxed her husband on Instagram, but the judge in early September declined to rule on that request. The judge did, however, impose the protective order that restricts her proximity to Scott Wolf and the children and set conditions intended to address safety and compliance while the criminal cases and divorce proceedings move forward.
Kelley Wolf has pleaded for privacy and said she has "lost everything," asking the public to stop slandering her family. She wrote that she would consider legal action against those who continued to defame them.
The case remains active in Utah courts. Prosecutors and defense attorneys have filed motions and requests in connection with the criminal charges, and family-court litigation over divorce and custody is ongoing. Court dates later this year are expected to address the alleged protective-order violation and the underlying misdemeanor charges.
