Keke Palmer is set to become the new host of “The Voice,” taking over for Carson Daly starting with Season 31. Palmer, 32, announced her new role on social media on Tuesday, confirming she will host the upcoming season, subtitled “The Voice: Celebrity.”
This special season will feature celebrities from various fields, including actors, musicians, athletes, and comedians, competing for the title of the first celebrity “Voice” champion. The show's format will shift from undiscovered talent to well-known personalities.
Palmer expressed her excitement, stating in an Instagram post, "That's right. It's true. I'm hosting ‘The Voice.’ I'll see you guys there." NBC and “The Voice” shared the announcement, indicating Palmer's tenure begins in 2027.
Carson Daly, who has hosted the singing competition since its premiere in 2011, is stepping down from the hosting duties after 30 seasons. A source cited by The US Sun reported that Daly’s departure is due to the demands of his co-anchor role on the “Today” show and a desire to spend more time with his family. Despite exiting as host, Daly will remain with the show as an executive producer and may potentially return for future seasons.
“He wasn’t able to make the upcoming season’s schedule work with his ‘Today’ show schedule,” the source told the outlet. “So his ‘Today’ workload mixed with not wanting to be away from family this next year made him say no to hosting 31.”
Daly, 53, has been the sole host of “The Voice” for its entire run. He also began co-anchoring the “Today” show in 2013. His family includes his wife, Siri Pinter, and their four children.
Season 30 of “The Voice,” with Daly still at the helm, is scheduled to premiere in September. The network has not yet announced the celebrity coaches for the upcoming “The Voice: Celebrity” season, but it was noted that Queen Latifah and Riley Green are returning, and Joe Jonas will be a new addition to the coaching panel.
