She stated in March that she would not be participating in the event in Glasgow, citing a desire to avoid burnout. "I'm currently not going to be competing," Hodgkinson said. "I love competing in front of a home crowd but it is such a busy year with Europeans and the world indoors. I've done that many championships before in a year – and it is a lot. So I just had to decide on which one was best for me. But I definitely will be supporting and enjoying it as well."
