An iconic Hollywood Hills estate, previously owned by pop singer Katy Perry, is now available for rent at $275,000 per month, marking one of the highest rental prices for the area. The Park Hill Estate, a 103-year-old property situated on three acres, offers panoramic views of the city skyline and the ocean.
The property is listed by Patrick Michael of Serhant, who noted that only one other rental in the Los Angeles area, located in Beverly Hills for $500,000 per month, is currently asking a higher price. The estate's current owner is Las Vegas hotel developer Lorenzo Doumani, who married his wife, Sarah LaRose Doumani of LA Estate Brokerage, on the grounds last year.
Originally built in 1923 by real estate developer C.F. DeWitt, the estate has a rich history, having been owned by pioneering music producer Ralph Peer, whose gatherings were attended by notable figures like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. In recent years, the property has hosted events for celebrities including Drake, Adele, Daniel Kaluuya, Kevin Hart, Lewis Hamilton, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Jimmy Butler.
Katy Perry and her then-husband Russell Brand purchased the Park Hill Estate in 2011 for $6.5 million. Although they never resided there, Perry reportedly used the property for yoga and Pilates. The couple divorced in 2013, and Perry and Brand sold the estate at a loss for $5.56 million to Lorenzo Doumani. Brand has since faced multiple accusations of sexual assault, with a trial slated to begin in London in October.
The fully renovated estate includes nine bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, spread across the main Mediterranean-style house, a two-story pool house, and a detached casita. The property, designed by architect Charles Kyson, features a 45-foot cathedral-style living room with cut stone walls and marble imported from Florence. Recent upgrades have incorporated large windows to maximize natural light and views.
Amenities on the grounds include a resort-style infinity-edge pool and spa, a pickleball court, an indoor-outdoor gym, a cold plunge, an infrared sauna, a steam room, and a home theater. An outdoor commercial-grade summer kitchen is also available for private chef experiences and events. Lorenzo Doumani stated that the renovation aimed to restore the estate's original "understated elegance" from the 1920s.
While this rental price sets a record for the Hollywood Hills, higher rental rates have been recorded in neighboring affluent areas like Bel-Air and Beverly Hills. For instance, a property on Bel Air was listed for $1.5 million per month in 2019.
