Katy Perry recently performed in Cardiff, Wales, wearing a red and white polka-dot bralette and miniskirt set that she first debuted in 2009. The archival outfit is being re-worn as part of a charity initiative.
Perry is currently holding a 21-day sweepstakes through her Firework Foundation, established in 2018, to auction off some of her past stage wardrobe. The singer plans to re-wear an archival look each day for three weeks.
The polka-dot ensemble, first worn in London in July 2009 at the Capital Summertime Ball, consists of a halter bralette and a miniskirt. Perry styled the set with thigh-high white socks and black platform sandals for her recent performance. During the 2009 event, she paired it with a retro bob hairstyle and black patent flats.
Perry also showcased a quick change during the concert, wearing a white button-down shirt styled as a dress, featuring the phrase “I am not a robot” and a crystal-embellished American flag tie. She originally wore this with black patent flats.
After the concert, Perry shared images of both looks on Instagram, noting her performance in Cardiff and expressing a desire for cabab. New archival looks will continue to be revealed as part of the sweepstakes. Previous items included in the auction are additional bustier tops and miniskirts from her 2009 “Hello Katy” tour, such as a blue sequin set and a pink ruffled two-piece outfit.
Perry is currently on her “Out of Office Tour” festival tour throughout Europe.
