Katy Perry and former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau have continued to speak and maintain a private connection while the singer is on a world tour, multiple entertainment outlets reported Monday.

U.S. entertainment website Us Weekly, as cited in a Daily Mail article, quoted an insider saying the pair "have decided to be much more private about it" and are still "very interested in each other." The same report said the two have been holding "private calls" while Perry tours and that Trudeau has made plans to see her when she has downtime after dates in Brazil.

Other sources framed the situation differently. A second person told Us Weekly that the relationship "isn't serious" at the moment and noted Perry's demanding schedule. Perry, 40, is headlining the Lifetimes Tour, which began on April 23, 2025, and is scheduled to conclude on Dec. 7, 2025, after 91 shows across Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America.

People magazine previously reported that the pair were seen together in Montreal earlier this year and quoted an insider who described an "attraction" between them. That source said both are "interested in each other" but cautioned that long periods of travel and transitions in their personal lives could slow how the relationship develops.

Perry confirmed the end of her engagement to actor Orlando Bloom in July 2025. Trudeau, 53, separated from his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in 2023; reports have noted he has been spending time with his children in Canada. Sources quoted in the recent coverage said the two share interests, including music, and described them as idealists who remain focused on causes and public life despite the challenges those commitments present.

Sources also pointed to logistical hurdles. One insider noted that both individuals have parenting responsibilities and public schedules that make frequent in-person meetings difficult, but added that long-distance arrangements and coordinated downtime could make contact possible.

Representatives for Perry and Trudeau did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The reporting to date is based on unnamed insiders cited by entertainment outlets; neither party has issued a public statement confirming the nature of their relationship.

Given Perry's packed tour itinerary and Trudeau's post-premiership activities in Canada, the future course of their reported contact is uncertain. For now, outlets say the two are keeping interactions discreet while navigating separate public and family responsibilities.
