Comedians Katt Williams and Kevin Hart, who have publicly feuded for years, staged a fictional fight scene for Hart's new Netflix comedy, '72 Hours,' which began streaming on July 24.
The scene, which features Williams appearing as himself, is a meta-commentary on the comedians' long-standing public disagreement. In the film, Hart's character, Joe, after accidentally joining a Gen Z bachelor party group chat and indulging in cocaine, hallucinates Williams appearing to confront him. Their exchange directly references their real-life beef, with Joe asking, "So, you have beef with me?" and Williams responding, "One hundred percent beef."
The feud between Williams and Hart dates back to at least 2018, when Williams criticized Tiffany Haddish's success, prompting a defense from Hart, who is a friend of Haddish's. Hart accused Williams of blaming external factors for his own career struggles. Years later, in 2024, Williams continued to express animosity, alleging Hart had stolen roles. However, the tension between the two appeared to dissipate earlier this year when Williams participated in Netflix's 'The Roast of Kevin Hart,' during which both comedians exchanged jabs but ultimately hugged.
The '72 Hours' fight sequence includes elements like a "Will Smith" slap, Williams smashing a painting over Hart's head, and repeated punches. Following the choreographed altercation, Hart compliments Williams's fighting ability, and Williams accepts the praise. Blooper reels from the film suggest that both actors maintained a lighthearted dynamic on set during the filming of this scene, with Williams humorously remarking, "Kevin slapped me for real."
In addition to addressing his public feud with Williams, '72 Hours' also features comedian Mike Epps, a rival of Hart's, in a cameo role as a police officer. Barmakers' bloopers indicate that Epps and Hart also had a positive working relationship on set.
