Sophia Laforteza, a member of the girl group Katseye, has announced she will be temporarily leaving the group to prioritize her mental health. The decision comes days before the group was scheduled to perform at the Head in the Clouds Music & Arts Festival in Pasadena.

In an Instagram post, Laforteza expressed her regret over missing the festival and emphasized the importance of her well-being. "Making this decision wasn't easy, but I'm learning that health has to come first," she wrote. "I'm realizing that if I don't take care of my mind and body now, I won't be able to keep doing what I love the most for so long."

Laforteza is considered a leader within Katseye, a group known for songs such as "Gnarly" and "Gabriela." Her absence means fans will not see the full group perform this weekend in Los Angeles.
