Katie Price said several newborn Sphynx kittens from her cat Doris were taken to a veterinary hospital and spent the night being treated after falling “dangerously ill.”
Price told followers she had already lost one kitten from the litter and that the remaining kittens were premature and struggling to feed, prompting close monitoring and round‑the‑clock care.
In an update to social media, Price said she has been helping the mother cat latch and feeding the newborns every two and a half hours day and night. She said the kittens’ prematurity meant two were “just about” managing to feed and that she had missed a holiday to tend to them. After some of the litter fell ill, she arranged veterinary care and reported they remained under observation overnight.
Price welcomed the hairless cat Doris and two other Sphynx cats into her home last October. In August she had told followers that one of Doris’s kittens had died after being unable to latch on, describing the loss as "sad news" and posting a series of updates about her efforts to support the litter.
The most recent hospital stay adds to a long public record of animal incidents connected to Price, who has repeatedly shared news of sick, injured, missing, rehomed and deceased pets across her social channels and interviews dating back more than half a decade. Media reports and posts by Price document multiple episodes in which animals in her care were harmed or lost, often after escaping property or suffering accidents.
In 2017 she reported a horse that had escaped from a field was struck and killed on the A24. That year she also owned two Sphynx cats, Dobby and Hagrid, and later said she was selling them because they did not get on with her dogs. In 2018 a German shepherd named Queenie was reported to have died after a hit‑and‑run, and a pet chameleon, Marvin, was reported as having died later that year amid questions about the home environment.
In 2019 a hedgehog gifted to her daughter was briefly lost in the family home; the same period saw a German shepherd called Bear rehomed after repeated near‑misses on local roads. In 2020 an Alsatian named Sparkle was reported to have been killed after being struck on the A24, and that year a French bulldog pup, Rolo, died after becoming trapped under an electric armchair, an episode that drew widespread public attention and prompted Price to speak about student‑advised pet products and veterinary guidance.
Subsequent years brought further incidents reported in the press: in 2021 she gave a French bulldog away during a television production; in 2022 she said a Pomeranian, Sharon, was killed after allegedly running onto a road; in 2023 a protection dog named Blade was struck by a car and died, and Price said the RSPCA had visited her home after the incident. She acquired a German shepherd puppy, Tank, after Blade's death but later rehomed him amid social‑media scrutiny.
Price’s social posts have alternated between expressions of grief and descriptions of practical steps taken after incidents, including veterinary visits, rehoming animals, and appeals for information when pets went missing. She has repeatedly told followers she is working to care for animals in her household, at times saying she would campaign on issues related to pet welfare.
Representatives for Price did not immediately respond to requests for further details about the kittens’ condition or to confirm the current prognosis. Price said in her latest updates that she would continue to monitor the kittens closely and keep followers informed as they receive treatment.
