Katie Price said she and her party were asked to leave their hotel hours before a scheduled appearance with Kerry Katona on their joint tour, describing the experience in a social media update as she prepared for the performance.
Price, 47, posted on Snapchat that she and her companions were told to vacate their room and had to move to the theatre several hours early. In the video she said: "Hotel booted us out," adding that staff knocked on the door and told them to leave. She said the theatre was about 10 minutes away and that she planned to get a sandwich while she waited and to settle her cats before the show.
Price has been travelling with Kerry Katona, 45, on a tell-all tour titled An Evening with Katie Price & Kerry Katona. She has also been publicly caring for several young cats, two of which she said were rushed to a veterinarian after appearing unresponsive. Price said the kittens had been born prematurely and that she and others had been bottle-feeding them; she described paying for treatment after an initial recommendation from a vet to euthanise the animals.
Her ownership of pets has drawn criticism from animal welfare groups in recent years after a series of pet deaths; Price has previously defended her decisions and said she is closely involved in their care.
The hotel incident came ahead of a performance at the Floral Pavilion theatre in New Brighton, Liverpool, where Price and Katona were forced to pause their show on Sept. 7 after security removed a group of audience members who were reportedly intoxicated and disruptive. Price apologised onstage for the delay between acts, saying the disruption "had nothing to do with us" and that the pair had been watching events unfold on a backstage monitor.
Merseyside Police confirmed they received a report from theatre security at just before 9:10 p.m. that a number of females had been asked to leave due to drunken and disruptive behaviour, and that those involved refused to leave and were verbally abusive to staff. A force spokesperson said enquiries into the matter were ongoing. The theatre said the second part of the show was briefly delayed and thanked police officers for their assistance in removing the individuals.
Witnesses reported that security staff spoke to someone in the audience during the performance and that the start of the second half was delayed while staff dealt with the situation. After the removal of the group, some audience members reportedly cheered. Police vehicles were seen outside the venue after the performance.
Price and Katona resumed the show and later continued with planned performances. The pair are scheduled to continue dates on the tour in the coming weeks, with organisers and venues addressing security and audience conduct at affected engagements.
