Katie Price has stated she "finally feels at peace" with herself in a rare interview discussing the truce she called with ex-husband Peter Andre, ending a 16-year feud. The former glamour model, 48, and Andre, 53, released a joint statement in February of this year announcing the end of their long-standing conflict.
"We are both focused on creating a calm and supportive environment for our children," their statement read. "We are hoping this is the start of a positive relationship."
Price and Andre were married in 2005, a little over a year after meeting as contestants on the third series of "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!". They have two children together, Junior, now 21, and Princess, 19. The couple announced their separation in 2009, leading to their subsequent divorce.
"Do you know what, I'm at peace with myself," Price told The Sun in the recent interview. "It doesn't mean to say I'll ever forget anything. But I've just got better things in my life. What's the point in reminiscing about the past like that? I've got no energy for it. I want to put all my energy into me and the future."
In April, Price and Andre began following each other on Instagram, shortly after confirming their truce. This social media interaction followed an earlier period where Price had unfollowed Andre in 2021. Reports at the time suggested this was related to claims made in Price's memoir "Harvey & Me," where she wrote about Andre's alleged lack of interest in his former stepson, Harvey, 23.
Sources close to the pair indicated that their children were a significant factor in their decision to resolve the animosity that had persisted since their divorce. "It was the children who made her realise she needed to draw a line in the sand. Katie has done this for them," a source told The Sun.
The joint statement also confirmed a mutual agreement that neither party would speak negatively about the other moving forward. "This decision reflects a shared commitment to our family and stability. We want to stand united for our children," the statement continued. "We ask for understanding and support from both the media and the public as we move ahead."
