Katie Price has disclosed that she has spent approximately £40,000 of her own money on an estimated 30 to 40 cosmetic procedures over the years. The former glamour model, now 48, made the revelation during an appearance on ITV's "Price Of Perfection," a series that explores the world of celebrity cosmetic surgery.
During a conversation with co-star Olivia Attwood, Price detailed the extent of her surgical history, which includes procedures such as six facelifts, 17 breast augmentations, dental work, and a fox eye operation. While the total cost of these procedures likely exceeds £100,000, Price stated that a significant portion were provided free of charge due to her public profile.
Attwood expressed surprise at the figure, gasping, "Is that it?" when Price stated her estimated personal expenditure. Price responded by asserting her ability to pay for procedures if she chose to pursue them.
Price also spoke about her family's concerns regarding her repeated surgeries. She noted that for three decades, family members have expressed reservations about her undergoing further procedures. Despite this, she has often proceeded with her desired surgeries. However, she acknowledged the importance of listening to surgeons, stating that if every surgeon accommodated her requests, she might "look more like a freak of nature."
She reflected on instances where she felt her appearance drew negative attention, admitting, "There have been times where I've thought 'Kate, people are not looking at you because you look good, they're looking because you look like a f****** alien or puffer fish."
Her mother, Amy Price, has previously voiced concerns, suggesting in 2023 that her daughter might be suffering from body dysmorphia. Body dysmorphic disorder is characterized by an obsessive preoccupation with perceived flaws in one's appearance.
Katie Price admitted to realizing she does have body dysmorphia, explaining that she frequently looks in the mirror and dislikes what she sees, prompting a desire for change. She expressed uncertainty about the underlying reasons for this compulsion but stated her goal is to feel happy with her reflection, a feeling she currently does not experience. Price also mused on what her appearance might be like had she never undergone surgery, a scenario she will never know.
