Comedian Katherine Ryan has disclosed that she spent £25,000 on a facelift undertaken last year, and is considering further cosmetic procedures, including a "baby Brazilian butt lift." Ryan, 43, stated the facelift was part of an effort to "reclaim her identity" eight weeks after the birth of her fourth child.
Appearing on the show "Olivia Attwood: The Price Of Perfection," Ryan explained that she felt she had looked like a "gargoyle" for the past five years following her pregnancies, describing the experience as "dissociative." She indicated that the decision to have the facelift was not solely for personal reasons but also for the benefit of her audience. "I didn't do it for me, I did it for the people who buy tickets to watch me on a Saturday night," she said, adding that she "don't really have to look at myself that often but they do from a lower angle."
Initially, Ryan consulted with a surgeon known for procedures on Kris Jenner, where she received a quote of $174,000. Ultimately, she opted for Dr. Nick Rhodes at the Coppergate Clinic in York, with the procedure costing £25,000.
Beyond the facelift, Ryan expressed interest in having her breast implants removed. She is also considering a "baby Brazilian butt lift," which she described as a less invasive procedure focused on subtle contouring and reshaping, rather than significant volume enhancement, to address perceived changes from her pregnancies. "I just want to look like the way I did before I had all of these pregnancies," she stated. "I've got more in the pipeline, people aren't ready for my glow up."
Ryan, who is married to Bobby Kootstra and has a 16-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, along with three younger children, reported experiencing minimal pain after the facelift surgery. She noted that she was able to resume daily activities, including attending social events and caring for her newborn, within weeks of the procedure. She mentioned that she took over-the-counter pain relief and did not require stronger medication. Ryan also humorously contrasted her own perceived physical changes with her husband's appearance, stating, "Bobby's still a hunk, and my face has gotten fat and thin, and fat and thin, and fat and thin."
The comedian has previously been open about her cosmetic enhancements, including breast augmentation in her early twenties and regular Botox treatments. She had hinted at undergoing cosmetic work in December but did not specify the procedure at that time.
