Kate Moss, 51, was photographed in Mayfair on Friday using a Hermès Kelly handbag said to be worth about £35,000 while picking up after one of her dogs during a walk with a friend.
The model, wearing ashirt and jeans, walked two dogs, Archie and Stanley, alongside singer Sarah Nimmo. Photographs show Moss holding the brown leather Kelly bag on one arm as she unfurled a bag to collect pet waste.
Moss has previously been photographed carrying the same Kelly, including on a recent trip to Ibiza where she was pictured with her daughter, Lila, 22. The London sighting coincides with another public announcement: Moss will host a new eight-part podcast for BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Sounds exploring David Bowie’s artistic development between 1970 and 1975.
Titled David Bowie: Changeling, the series will incorporate rare and previously unheard archive interviews and contributions from figures including Elton John, Iggy Pop and Boy George. Producers said the programme will feature an exclusive 2001 interview with podcast creator Des Shaw and recently unearthed audio from the BBC Archive, alongside commentary from artists and contemporaries such as Lady Gaga, Sinéad O’Connor, Lou Reed and Tracey Emin.
Speaking about the project, Moss said in a statement that Bowie was "a very special person" and "much more than a friend — he was an enigma." She added that she was "excited to help share the story of such an incredible transformation," describing the podcast as "a real celebration of my friend, a true British icon."
The series will examine Bowie’s early performances with bands such as The Hype, his interest in artist Andy Warhol, and the creation of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, as well as the lasting legacy of the Ziggy Stardust persona.
Moss and Bowie were close for roughly a decade prior to his death in 2016 at age 69. She has previously recounted anecdotes about their friendship, including a 2016 BBC Radio 6 Music interview in which she said Bowie teased her about not being able to fit into his clothes. In 2014 she collected a BRIT Award on his behalf wearing an outfit associated with his stage persona.
The Mayfair photographs present a juxtaposition between Moss’s public role as a fashion figure and ordinary civic duties taken while walking pets in central London. The forthcoming BBC podcast places her in a curatorial role, presenting archival material and interviews intended to map a formative five-year period in Bowie’s career.
