Kate Lawler, the 45-year-old former Big Brother winner, says she had one of the best weekends of her life after a childfree trip to Ibiza for a close friend's 50th birthday. She traveled with her husband, Martin Bojtos, while their five-year-old daughter Noa stayed at home.
On Instagram, Lawler shared clips of Ibiza’s clubs, lavish dinners and pool days with friends, noting that the break let them let their hair down and briefly forget their parental responsibilities. She described the island as magical and said she was back home grateful to have had the time away with her partner.
Lawler has said that she and her husband can spend about 1,000 pounds per day on holidays, including spending, transport and accommodation, a figure she says applies to family trips with their daughter and their two dogs.
Lawler rose to fame after winning the third series of Big Brother in 2002, earning about 70,000 pounds. She later disclosed that she faced an 80,000-pound tax bill a few years after the show and spent roughly two years paying it off. She now says she is more financially secure, thanks to savings and her husband’s careful budgeting, though she continues to worry about making ends meet at times. She no longer uses a credit card and relies on property income for the future; she does not have a pension but hopes to have one, potentially supported by her husband’s pension in retirement.
Following her Big Brother victory, Lawler became a DJ on Capital FM and later hosted the ill-fated Channel Four breakfast show RI:SE in 2003. She has since made regular appearances on This Morning and Loose Women, and in 2022 her memoir Maybe Baby: On the Mother Side became a Sunday Times bestseller.
