Kate Garraway, 59, recounted a startling wardrobe incident that occurred shortly before her Smooth Radio show on Thursday. While preparing to go on air, her wrap dress unexpectedly came undone, leading to an awkward moment with her radio producer.

Garraway explained on air that she had put on a wrap dress due to the warm weather. She believes that excessive movement while seated caused the dress to loosen and fall open. "I must have been wriggling around a lot on my seat, because I just jumped up and my clothes completely fell off," she said. "I think it must have come undone."

She expressed relief that her back was to the studio window at the time, but acknowledged that her producer, Rosie, inadvertently saw more than intended. "Although poor producer Rosie just got a heck of an eyeful that she didn't want, anyway," Garraway remarked.

The presenter quickly readjusted her dress to continue with the broadcast. Later in the show, she humorously referred to the incident as a "real Kate Calamity" and quipped, "You cannot trust a wrap dress. That's what's up."

This event occurred amidst personal discussions for Garraway. She recently spoke about her daughter Darcey, 20, and expressed that she would permit her to participate in the reality show Love Island, though Darcey herself has stated she would never do so. Garraway also shared her experiences on Celebrity Traitors, detailing the emotional difficulty of dropping Darcey off at university, particularly without her late husband Derek Draper, who passed away in 2024. She noted the contrast between her experience and other students arriving with both parents.

Garraway has also been the subject of media attention regarding a rumored new romance with broadcaster and economist Liam Halligan, whom she was first seen with in April. She has maintained a private stance on the relationship, stating only that "Everyone is being so sweet about it."
