Influencer Kate Cassidy has revealed she is struggling with single life following a recent breakup, admitting "I hate being single." The 27-year-old shared the sentiment alongside a series of bikini photos taken during a girls' holiday in Montauk, New York.
Cassidy disclosed in a TikTok video that her new partner ended their relationship because she frequently compared him to her former boyfriend, One Direction star Liam Payne. Payne died in October 2024 at the age of 31. "Dating after losing somebody that you genuinely thought you were going to spend the rest of your life with is really tough because I physically look for Liam in every single guy that I meet," Cassidy explained in the video. She added that if a new person did not meet certain criteria, she would "almost resent this person."
She described her recent partner, whom she referred to as "Joe," as sweet and low-key, noting that he did not have social media, which she initially found appealing. The relationship progressed quickly, with Cassidy meeting his family and going on trips, but she acknowledged, "I f**ked up."
Cassidy admitted that she would become angry with her new boyfriend when he didn't behave in ways she associated with Payne. "There were certain times where I would get so angry with this guy, because I would physically get like 'oh well Liam would do this so why aren't you doing this?' Or he would do something and I would be like, 'Liam would never do that'," she said. Her partner ultimately ended the relationship, telling her they should "go our separate ways because it's just too much," a decision Cassidy stated she understood.
Earlier in June, Cassidy had hinted at a new romance, posting a TikTok video of a man carrying her with the caption "I love having a crush." She also shared a video of herself on a double date with a friend shortly before announcing her breakup.
Cassidy and Payne dated for two years until his death. Her social media still features tributes to him, including a recent post with a photo of them together and the caption "never gonna find nobody better all my life... love you 4eva."
