Fox News host Kat Timpf has introduced a new addition to her family, a one-eyed cat named Juan, as she navigates a challenging period in her life. The update came approximately one month after the unexpected death of her father.
Timpf shared a video on Instagram showcasing her new feline companion, who was sporting a small blue hoodie. She described the past year as particularly difficult, recounting her diagnosis with breast cancer just 15 hours before going into labor with her son. This was followed by a double mastectomy. Her father, Daniel, who passed away in May at the age of 69, had been a source of support throughout these events.
"It's been really hard," Timpf stated in the video. "I've been going through a lot." She introduced Juan, explaining his name was a play on words, referring to his single eye. She also shared a photo with Juan, captioning it "Baddies missing body parts," referencing both the cat's eye and her double mastectomy.
Her father's sudden death in May has been a significant blow, with Timpf describing the experience as "unimaginable horror." She fondly remembered him as "loyal, funny, kind, selfless, hard-working, and so devoted to his children," calling him her "rock" and "best friend." She noted his role in providing stability during her cancer journey and the birth of her son, a period that followed the death of her mother in 2014.
Timpf's father was last seen by her the Monday before he died, with her son helping him with his suitcase as he departed. The farewells were brief, as they anticipated seeing him again in early June for shows in Texas and a visit to her grandfather. Timpf expressed her devastation, stating she would undergo yearly mastectomies to speak with him again, even for a few minutes.
Fans and followers have responded positively to the news of Juan, expressing happiness for Timpf and the healing power of animal companionship. Juan has also gained his own Instagram page, which has attracted thousands of followers. Timpf concluded her post by encouraging her followers to "do something kind for someone you know."
