Karlie Kloss has broken her silence regarding her attendance at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding. The model and entrepreneur, 33, addressed the ceremony during an appearance on the "Today" show, speaking about her friendship with Swift and the public's fascination with their relationship.
Kloss, who was a prominent member of Swift's inner circle in the early 2010s, had not been seen publicly with the singer since approximately 2017. This perceived distance fueled years of speculation among fans about a potential falling out between the two.
However, Kloss and her husband, Joshua Kushner, were among the approximately 1,000 guests at Swift and Kelce's wedding, which took place on July 3. Their attendance reignited fan theories about a reconciliation between Swift and Kloss.
When asked about the event, Kloss stated, "Listen, I try to protect the privacy of my friends’ personal lives. But what I will say is that they’re an amazing couple and I’m so happy for them."
Celebrity-Filled Ceremony
The wedding ceremony, held at Madison Square Garden, featured a star-studded guest list. Celebrities such as Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, Hugh Grant, Steven Spielberg, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Tom Brady, Jessica Chastain, Ed Sheeran, and Paul McCartney were in attendance. The event also included performances by Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney, and Swift herself performed. Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.
Reports indicated that a castle inspired by Swift's "Love Story" music video was constructed inside the venue. The days leading up to the wedding saw camera equipment being unloaded outside the stadium, and road closures in the vicinity caused significant traffic disruptions in Manhattan.
While Kloss was present for the main ceremony, she reportedly was not invited to the more intimate rehearsal dinner held the night before for about 100 guests.
Shifting Friendship Dynamics
Kloss and Swift reportedly began their friendship in 2013, frequently appearing together in public events in the subsequent years. Kloss was also featured in the music video for Swift's 2015 song "Bad Blood."
Speculation about a rift intensified around 2017 when the pair stopped appearing together. Theories circulating among fans included potential issues arising from Kloss's management by Scooter Braun, who was involved in a public dispute with Swift, and Kloss's family ties to Donald Trump through her marriage to Joshua Kushner, despite Kloss's own stated political differences with the Trump administration.
Signs of a potential thaw in their relationship were noted last August when Kloss reportedly "liked" an Instagram post from Swift announcing her engagement to Kelce. Kloss was seen wearing a gold Tove gown at the wedding alongside her husband.
