Kaia Gerber attended the London premiere of her new thriller series, "The Shards," on Thursday night. The series, which premieres August 5 on FX/Hulu, is based on Bret Easton Ellis' 2023 novel of the same name.

Gerber, 24, stars opposite Homer Gere, 26, the son of Richard Gere and Carey Lowell, in the 10-episode series set in 1981 Los Angeles. The dark coming-of-age tale features Gerber and co-star Hayes Warner as wealthy prep school students Susan Reynolds and Debbie Schaffer.

"The Shards" is described as a violent and sexually charged story about a serial killer targeting a group of privileged high schoolers. The novel on which it is based is a fictionalized account of Ellis's adolescence, with many characters inspired by real individuals.

The series' official logline states that Igby Rigney plays Bret, an aspiring writer whose reality unravels with the arrival of a mysterious new student, Robert Mallory, portrayed by Homer Gere. Robert's transfer coincides with the terror of "The Trawler," a serial killer active in the city. Bret's social circle includes Susan Reynolds (Gerber), Debbie Schaffer (Warner), and Thom Wright (Graham Campbell), a group drawn into a world of wealth, parties, and excess.

The cast also includes Evan Rachel Wood, Wes Bentley, and Daniel Dale. The series was initially developed by Luca Guadagnino for HBO before being revived by Ryan Murphy and FX.

Gerber, the daughter of Cindy Crawford, has previously worked with Ryan Murphy on "American Horror Story: Double Feature" and the spin-off "American Horror Stories."
