Kaia Gerber has returned to work, appearing in her first fashion campaign since the death of her brother, Presley Gerber. The campaign for JW Anderson x UGG launched nearly six weeks after Presley, a model and the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, died at age 27 from a suspected overdose on September 20.
Gerber, 25, stars in an intimate shoot that highlights "everyday comfort, contemporary design and the growing appeal of understated luxury." The collection, shot by Tanya and Zhenya Posternak, combines UGG's sheepskin materials and classic silhouettes with Jonathan Anderson's loafer designs. It is available in three colorways: Chestnut, Khaki, and Orange.
The campaign launch follows a recent public tribute Gerber shared for her older brother. She posted home video footage and a handwritten letter detailing her grief, writing, "Prez, I don't have the words. ... my articulation is no match against this, the magnitude of losing you." She described Presley as her "ultimate teacher" and "the hardest I've ever laughed and the one true love of my life."
Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber issued a joint statement after their son's death, expressing their devastation and calling him a "sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever." Presley had been open about his struggles with mental health and drug addiction in the years leading up to his death.
