Kaia Gerber, daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford, shared a personal account of believing she was possessed as a child and subsequently underwent an exorcism. The 24-year-old model recounted the experience on a recent episode of "The Mitch Churi Chat Show," stating she has been "haunted" her whole life and attracts "beings from other dimensions."
According to Gerber, her mother, Cindy Crawford, provided her with holy water to take while filming "American Horror Story: Double Feature" in 2021, expressing concern about her getting possessed. Gerber recalled that the exorcism involved the playing of a didgeridoo, an Indigenous Australian wind instrument.
"That actually did happen," Gerber reportedly stated. "I've never talked about it, but it actually did happen. I'm all healed."
Gerber's appearance on the show also touched upon other personal topics, including her past struggles with disordered eating under public scrutiny. She discussed the comparisons she faced to her supermodel mother and her own body image in an interview with Vogue. "People are like: 'You look terrible,' and it doesn’t exactly make you go, 'Oh, good. Let me get over this mental illness then!' Negativity has never saved someone's life," she expressed.
She also commented on current trends in the fashion industry, noting the prevalence of thinness. "As someone who's been thin most of my life, I've always been compared against my mom - like, What's wrong with Kaia? I'm so jealous of my mom's body. I would have loved to be born with boobs and a butt."
Gerber's recent acting work includes a role in Ryan Murphy's FX series "The Shards," co-created with author Bret Easton Ellis. The series is described as a teen thriller that blends coming-of-age themes with an erotic thriller element, set in 1981 Los Angeles, focusing on a group of high school friends amidst a serial killer's spree.
Homer Gere, son of actor Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford's ex-husband, also stars in "The Shards" and discussed his familial connection to Gerber. He noted that he and Gerber acknowledged their parents' past marriage shortly after meeting. "Twenty minutes into knowing each other, I was like: 'Should we just acknowledge the fact that our parents were married?' She was like: 'Yeah. Cool.' And that was it," Gere recounted. He also commented on their casting together, suggesting it might seem "too on the nose."
Gerber, who has followed in her mother's footsteps as a model before pursuing acting, has previously spoken about her experiences as a "nepo baby." She has stated that she has "only ever benefited in my career from it" but also admitted to judging others in similar positions. This label, she explained, has motivated her to work harder to prove she has earned her opportunities.
Her acting credits include the TV film "Sister Cities" (2016), "Bottoms" (2023), "Shell" (2024), and "Mother Mary" (2026). She has also appeared in shows such as "Palm Royale" and "Hacks," in addition to "American Horror Story" and its spinoff "American Horror Stories."
