Kacey Musgraves experienced a fiery moment during her performance in Boston on Friday when sparks from the stage evolved into a small fire in the rafters.

The incident occurred at TD Garden as Musgraves finished performing her song "Golden Hour." Video circulating on social media captured the unexpected eruption of flames above the stage.

"That looks bad. Genuinely, something’s on fire," Musgraves quipped as she looked upward, according to footage shared on TikTok. She added a lighthearted remark about her hairspray, stating, "I have way too much hairspray to be standing under that s--t."

Musgraves, currently on her "Middle of Nowhere" tour, continued to joke about the situation, calling the fire "cute" but admitting it gave her "anxiety." She also commented, "I only like pyro when I know what’s going to happen." The singer lightheartedly asked if anyone in the audience had a "bedazzled fire extinguisher."

Reports from concertgoers indicated that the small flame eventually extinguished on its own after approximately three minutes.

Fans on social media reacted to the incident with various comments, including one that referenced Musgraves' song lyrics, "You set my world on fire."

Earlier in the tour, Musgraves made headlines for her unique stage setup, including appearing atop giant floating disco balls shaped like testicles during the tour's opening night in Chicago. The tour, however, faced some disruption when three dates were mysteriously canceled shortly before its commencement.

This is not the first time Musgraves has dealt with an unusual event during a performance. In 2024, she addressed an overzealous fan who grabbed her during a show in Florida. At the time, she humorously likened the fan's behavior to the "Florida Man" phenomenon.

The "Middle of Nowhere" tour is scheduled to continue with 31 remaining shows before concluding in the UK in February.
