Country music star Kacey Musgraves has canceled three concerts scheduled for her upcoming "Middle of Nowhere Tour," including the planned opening night in Chicago.
Fans received email notifications from Ticketmaster this week informing them of the cancellations. The affected shows include the August 20 date in Chicago, a September 2 concert in Brooklyn, and a performance in Boston on August 29. The tour was slated to begin in late August.
Musgraves has not publicly addressed the cancellations, leaving fans to speculate on the reasons. Some concertgoers have voiced their disappointment on social media platforms, with several suggesting that low ticket sales may be a factor. One fan expressed frustration on X, formerly Twitter, stating, "kinda livid that my kacey musgraves concert was cancelled like no i didn't want to see her for the first time after listening to her for 13 years."
Another user wrote, "My Kacey Musgraves show was canceled and I'm actually really very sad about it lol." Concerns were also raised about the lack of official announcements, with one X user asking, "is there a reason my td garden date for kacey musgraves has been cancelled but I haven't seen an announcement anywhere???"
The "Slow Burn" singer had announced the tour in late April and subsequently added more dates. The North American leg was scheduled to run through late October, with plans to conclude in Seattle. Following the U.S. dates, Musgraves was scheduled to travel to Australia in January 2027 and the United Kingdom in February 2027 for several performances.
It remains unclear if any other dates on the tour will be affected. Representatives for Musgraves have not yet responded to requests for comment. The artist recently released a music video for her song "Mexico Honey."
