Juno Temple made a striking fashion statement at the New York City premiere of Apple TV’s “Ted Lasso” Season 4, opting for a memorable gown from the Gucci archives. The turquoise, lace-up, plunging dress was originally worn by Jennifer Lopez at the 2003 premiere of the film “Gigli.”
The design, created by Tom Ford for Gucci, features a distinctive lace-up bodice, a front slit, and a cut-out detail at the back. Temple paired the vintage gown with a crystal-studded Judith Leiber clutch shaped like a hotdog and a significant emerald-cut diamond choker from Jacob & Co. Sky-high platform heels, also adorned with crystals, completed her ensemble.
Temple revealed on “Live with Kelly and Mark” that she has owned the dress for nearly a decade, having discovered it on eBay for $180. She described it as her "best vintage find to-date" and her "favorite...ever," expressing her admiration for Tom Ford's era at Gucci. She has previously teased her affection for the gown, calling herself an "absolute vintage junkie."
In contrast, Jennifer Lopez wore a chocolate brown version of the same Tom Ford design in 2003. Lopez styled her look with her hair in an updo, opting for chandelier earrings instead of a necklace and completing the ensemble with nearly invisible heels.
This is not the first time Temple has embraced vintage fashion for public appearances. Last week, she attended another premiere in a 2001 Roberto Cavalli dress, accessorized with a soccer ball-shaped Judith Leiber bag.
Temple's own style choices often echo the bold fashion sense of her "Ted Lasso" character, Keeley Jones, whom Temple described as someone who "says yes to everything" and from whom viewers could learn "determination and eternal optimism."
