Julia Roberts was recently seen in New York City with her eldest son, Phinnaeus, 21. The pair were photographed walking arm-in-arm through Manhattan, with Phinnaeus appearing to tower over his famous mother.
Roberts, 58, appeared relaxed in a black collared shirt and ripped denim shorts, while Phinnaeus wore a graphic T-shirt, shorts, and sandals. Phinnaeus, who studies at the University of California, Berkeley, bears a resemblance to his father, cinematographer Danny Moder.
Phinnaeus's twin sister, Hazel, a student at Trinity College Dublin, and their younger brother, Henry, who attends the Pratt Institute in New York, were not present for the outing.
This sighting followed a family celebration for Henry's birthday, also in New York. Roberts, Henry, and Hazel were later seen at the Jane Hotel in Manhattan's West Village.
Roberts, who married Danny Moder in 2002, previously spoke about her parenting style in an interview with George Clooney. She described herself and Moder as being stricter parents, noting that their children were among the last in their peer groups to receive mobile phones. "When they were younger, certainly, Danny and I would have been considered some of the stricter parents," Roberts stated. "Not like we're laying down the law, but these are the rules and they don’t change. Here’s the boundary of your life and it does not shift." She believes this approach provides stability and security for her children.
Roberts also emphasized the importance of aligned core values between her and Moder in raising their children. The couple, who met on the set of "The Mexican" in 2000, have maintained a low-profile family life away from the spotlight.
