Julia Roberts, 57, and her niece Emma Roberts, 34, made a rare joint appearance Tuesday at the Veuve Clicquot x Simon Porte Jacquemus event at the Central Park Boathouse in New York, both sporting similar copper-colored hair.

Roberts led a group of A-list guests at the event, arriving in a black tailored suit with an oversized blazer, wide-leg trousers, a white shirt and striped tie, finished with patent lace-up stiletto boots. Her niece wore a black chiffon gown with a bandeau-style bodice and a sheer midriff cutout, and had ditched the bright blonde she previously wore for a shorter copper bob that echoed her aunt’s signature waves.

French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus, whose collaboration with Veuve Clicquot was the focus of the evening, attended the event and was seated near Roberts and singer Solange Knowles. Actress Charlotte Le Bon was also present, wearing a black sparkly sweater paired with a white tulle mini-skirt and stiletto flats.

Emma Roberts first unveiled the copper color in February at the Nine Zero One Salon in West Hollywood. Stylists Nikki Lee and Riawna Capri worked on the transformation, with Lee telling People that the color — described there as "sunrise red" — was chosen in part for an upcoming acting role and that it offered a "very modern take on Julia Roberts hair in the nineties."

The appearance continues a visible professional relationship between Julia Roberts and Jacquemus; Roberts has been photographed attending the designer’s shows internationally. The outing also comes amid recent headlines for Roberts related to a separate media appearance. During press for the film After the Hunt, Italian journalist Federica Polidoro was widely criticized for repeatedly directing questions to Roberts and Andrew Garfield while appearing to exclude Ayo Edebiri from parts of a group interview. Roberts at one point replied to Polidoro, "Can you repeat that? With your sunglasses on I can't tell which of us you're talking to."

The clip of the interview circulated on social media and drew widespread comment about the conduct of the interview. Polidoro later said she had been subjected to personal insults and attacks online and described the response as cyberbullying.

The Veuve Clicquot x Jacquemus event in Central Park offered a convergence of fashion and celebrity, highlighting a new look for Emma Roberts and a rare public appearance alongside her aunt, a longtime Hollywood star. Both women left the event appearing to echo a shared aesthetic through their similar copper tones, drawing attention from fashion and entertainment observers.
