New York Mets outfielder Juan Soto recently added acting to his resume, filming a cameo appearance for an upcoming baseball romantic comedy titled "The Catch." The film, starring Emma Stone and Chris Pine, held a shooting day at Citi Field.
Soto was observed exiting the Mets dugout during filming on Friday, July 24, 2026. The movie, scheduled for release on May 21, 2027, is being directed by Dave McCary, who is married to Stone, and produced by Universal Pictures.
Details surrounding the plot of "The Catch" are being kept under wraps. However, reports suggest Stone will portray "the most hated woman in baseball," while Pine is slated to play a baseball player. Other cast members include Tim Robbins, who will play Stone's father, Sissy Spacek as an aunt, and "Saturday Night Live" star Ashley Padilla.
