Comedian Josh Widdicombe's eight-year-old daughter, Pearl, was recently rushed to the hospital after breaking her arm during a cartwheel at school. Widdicombe, who was away working at the time, shared the incident on the June 26 episode of his podcast "Parenting Hell," which he hosts with Rob Beckett.

His wife, Rose Hanson, informed him of the injury, noting that Pearl required an anesthetic to reset the bone. Widdicombe described the break as "proper." The incident occurred at Pearl's school, and Widdicombe mentioned that her friends who witnessed the event were shaken.

"Her friends were quite affected by it. They both cried after school, the ones that saw," Widdicombe recounted on the podcast. "You know when footballers see a bad injury near them."

Pearl is reportedly recovering well and has been fitted with a cast. Widdicombe plans to return to the hospital for a check-up to monitor her recovery and discuss the duration of the cast. The cast extends over her elbow, but Widdicombe noted that Pearl is adapting well and has begun using her left hand for writing.

Widdicombe and Hanson also have a five-year-old son, Cassius. In addition to his podcast, Widdicombe is set to co-host "Strictly Come Dancing" beginning in September, joining Emma Willis and Johannes Radebe. The trio will take over from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who departed the show after the 2025 series.
