Actor Jonathan Majors is set to star in the upcoming action film "Run Hide Fight: Infidels," produced by Ben Shapiro's conservative media company, The Daily Wire. The film, which wrapped production in April, marks Majors' first major project since facing assault charges. Its plot, involving Islamic terrorists hijacking a pro-Palestine encampment on a college campus, is expected to generate significant discussion.
The movie's logline states: "When radical Islamic terrorists hijack a liberal college’s pro-Palestine encampment to enforce barbaric Sharia law on students and execute infidels in a makeshift caliphate, a ragtag band of red-blooded students, a security guard tired of ‘Uncle Tom’ smears, and a Delta Force vet must arm up to save their clueless peers and keep America from surrendering to the enemy on its own soil." Majors portrays the Delta Force veteran. The film's trailer includes imagery of 9/11, ISIS beheadings, and college unrest, concluding with an ISIS flag atop a campus pole and a call to prayer.
Dallas Sonnier, the film's producer, described the project as aligning with the production company's history of making films that "nobody else could make." He cited influences such as John Milius and "Red Dawn," and expressed a desire to create movies in the vein of 1980s action stars. Sonnier insisted that Majors is fully supportive of the film and gave a strong performance. Majors' career was significantly impacted by a 2023 domestic violence conviction.
"Infidels" is directed by Kyle Rankin and is scheduled to be released on The Daily Wire platform in the fall. Sonnier criticized what he called the "woke mind virus" in Hollywood and stated that the film aims to mock the anti-Israel, pro-Palestine movement. He asserted that the production company is unafraid to feature radical jihadis as villains.
While casting reportedly saw engagement from Hollywood agencies, there were some reports of production disruptions. Some crew members allegedly walked off set, citing unsafe conditions during a scene where Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne fell through a window. Sonnier attributed these walkouts to local individuals attempting to unionize the production and stated that all safety measures were in place. He also noted that the actors involved in the stunt were quickly back to work.
Sonnier defended the film's controversial themes, stating, "We live in the great country of America, where freedom of speech is protected and our artistic endeavor is not subject to the woke ideologies of the left. And we will never let socialism or radical Islam ever take over our country." He also praised Majors' professionalism and acting ability on set.
