Johnny Vegas has offered a rare glimpse into his relationship with long-term girlfriend Vikki Jones, who has joined him in his antiques business to allow them to spend more time together. The 54-year-old comedian, who has been dating the art gallery owner for three years, is now working alongside her at his Cheshire shop, which is featured on the Quest television show "Johnny Vegas' Little Shop Of Antiques."
Vegas shared that while some advise against working with a partner, he has found the experience to be "great." He noted that Jones and his colleague Bev often tease him. He also clarified that he has not intentionally kept his relationship out of the public eye, stating that he simply does not share much about it on social media.
The decision to shift his career focus came after stand-up comedy "took its toll," according to Vegas. He described the experience as "manic" and that the nerves associated with it had become burdensome, though he did not rule out a return in the future.
Previously, Vegas has spoken about how his older son helped him to change his life, recalling periods of "four-day benders." He attributed this shift to the responsibilities of fatherhood, stating that the need to be present for his child pulled him away from destructive behavior.
He also discussed how his ADHD diagnosis at age 52 has influenced his career. Vegas explained that while his stage persona, which he views as a defense mechanism, may have originated independently of his ADHD, the condition has benefited his work in art. He noted that while ADHD can present challenges in decision-making and time management, it also fuels a constant stream of creative ideas, which he likens to catching butterflies.
