Johnny Depp joined his former "The Fast Show" co-star Paul Whitehouse on stage for an impromptu recreation of their famous "Suits You, Sir!" sketch. The reunion occurred backstage at a concert by Depp's band, Hollywood Vampires, at London's O2 arena on Wednesday night, approximately 26 years after Depp's original cameo on the British sketch comedy show.
Depp's appearance on "The Fast Show" was in its 2000 farewell special. The "Suits You, Sir!" sketch featured Depp alongside Whitehouse and fellow cast member Mark Williams. Depp has previously described the cameo as "my proudest achievement" and called Whitehouse "the greatest actor in the world."
Video shared by Whitehouse's wife, Dr. Mine Conkbayir, showed the two actors embracing and reciting the sketch's catchphrase. "26 years later and saucier than ever! Suit You Sirs! The @hollywoodvampires were f**king phenomenal! @johnnydepp - we love yooooooou! ❤️," Conkbayir captioned the post. She also shared a photo of herself, Whitehouse, and Depp, humorously referencing wedding bells.
Fans expressed delight at the reunion, with some calling it "the reunion we've always needed" and others suggesting Depp would be a suitable guest for Whitehouse's show "Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing." Some fans also called for a "Fast Show" reboot.
Depp and Whitehouse have collaborated on other projects since "The Fast Show" appearance. Whitehouse had a cameo in Depp's 2015 film "Mortdecai," and appeared in "Alice Through the Looking Glass" in 2016.
Depp has consistently expressed enthusiasm for "The Fast Show," stating he would return for another appearance "in a millisecond" if invited by Whitehouse and the original cast.
"The Fast Show" originally aired between 1994 and 1997, with subsequent specials. The core surviving cast reunited in 2024 to celebrate three decades of the series.
