Actor John Stamos marked his 63rd birthday on Wednesday by posting a naked, black-and-white selfie to his Instagram account, sharing the image with his 4.5 million followers.
The "Full House" star shared the photo, which showed him holding his smartphone and taking the picture in a bathroom mirror, with the simple caption "63."
Numerous fans and celebrities reacted to the post in the comments section. Candace Cameron Bure, who played D.J. Tanner on "Full House," wished him a "Happy birthday Uncle J." Kelly Rizzo, widow of "Full House" co-star Bob Saget, commented, "All I can think about is 'what would Bob say' right now. happy birthday John I love you!" Bravo star Andy Cohen responded with fire emojis, while other users made jokes or quoted Stamos's character catchphrase "Have Mercy."
Stamos has previously spoken about his approach to aging, telling Us Weekly last year, "I am getting old, although I don't feel it. I take care of myself." He attributed his positive outlook to sobriety, stating, "I stopped drinking 10 years ago. That's why I'm alive." He also credited his wife, Caitlin McHugh, whom he married in 2018, and their son Billy, born that year, with helping to keep him "young and kept me alive."
His fitness regimen includes working out three to four times a week and prioritizing sleep. "Having a young son helps," he added.
In past interviews, Stamos also discussed a botched nose job he underwent in the 1980s. After breaking his nose as a child and not being satisfied with the initial surgical correction, he had it redone by the same surgeon who operated on Michael Jackson. He wrote in his 2023 memoir, "If You Would Have Told Me," that he fixated on his nose on television, detracting from his performance and stemming from early bullying.
Recently, Stamos attended the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, where he met and took photos with the Jonas Brothers.
