Jessie J announced on Monday she is taking a break from social media to undergo a second cancer reconstruction surgery and to recharge after a period of significant personal and professional activity. The 38-year-old singer shared in an Instagram post that she aims to "speed up the healing process" by taking time away from online platforms.

Over the past two years, Jessie J has navigated a breast cancer diagnosis and recovery, released her first album in eight years, moved from the USA to the UK, experienced a breakup, and continued to raise her three-year-old son, Sky. She noted that this period, while "magical" and "life-changing," has taken a toll on aspects of herself that require dedicated attention and space.

"Now’s the time. Work has slowed down. So healing speeds up please," she stated. Jessie J plans to use this time for "a digital cleanse" to give her "mind, body and heart a well needed hug," focusing on her upcoming surgery, rest, and processing recent life events. She also expressed a desire to be more present with her son.

Jessie J revealed in May that she was cancer-free, a year after her initial diagnosis. She had surgery in June of the previous year, with her then-partner Chanan Safir Colman providing support. Later, in August, she cancelled tour dates due to the need for further cancer treatment.

The singer explained that she chose to speak publicly about her diagnosis to help process it and to connect with others facing similar challenges, stating that the experience provided her with "incredible perspective."

She indicated that while she might occasionally post for work commitments, she will otherwise be offline until she feels ready to return. "See you when feels right. Love you all," she concluded. In a separate post, she shared a photo with her son, captioned: "No place I would rather be. Bye social media, be back when I want to be."
